System Requirements

The hardware and software specifications required for installing Fiorano API Management Server (AMS) and API Gateway Server (AGS), as well as the associated tools, are specified below.

Operating System

The following Operating Systems work well with the Fiorano Servers:

Java version

We recommend using 1.8 or higher versions of Java.

Third-Party Installations

• Cassandra DB Server - It is used as the data store for all information that is looked up while a request is being processed such as subscriptions, clients, and distributed quotas.
• PostgreSQL DB Server - This is the analytics database where all analytics data being tracked at the proxy is stored and fetched from here for processing.

Minimum Requirements

The minimum specification required to kick start the servers and keep the system running.

• Lock File server for High Availability: For an HA environment, setup a Lock File on a different machine. One Lock File Machine is needed per environment with a 1KB file for each server.

Recommended Specifications

The recommended specification required for the real-time environment where the API Request/Reply traffic is high.

The recommended specification provided below is for a Usual Load scenario, but the actual specification depends on various parameters that vary from case to case. Parameters need to be set after thoroughly analyzing the actual load for optimum utilization.
