Policies in the Cache category help in storing data to cache in the proxy pipeline so as to access the written data and to remove the entries from the cache. Response cache helps in performance by caching the response from the target server and avoiding back end invocation where possible.

These Cache policies can be used to improve performance of APIs as they allow the API proxy to store and retrieve data at runtime.
