API Discovery

API discovery in Fiorano API management can be done through Fiorano Developer Portal, a browser-based tool that allows developers to self-register and eases the process of interaction between developers and APIs published by the API manager.

A developer can register an application and add different products that are published by the organization.

For products with automatic approval, the developer can interact directly with the APIs grouped as part of the product. Alternatively, the administrator of the concerned organization can approve the subscription at a later point.

With simplified developer interaction, the number of developers interested will grow giving the APIs an exposure to a larger audience. A large developer community helps in fine-tuning the APIs keeping them on par with industry standards.

Applications and Products modules in the Fiorano Development Portal provide an interface for developers to register their applications and add different products to subscribe respectively.
Multiple APIs would have been added to a product in the API Management tool. In the Developer Portal, the APIs are available in the Product Details page.

Developer Portal

• Option for developers to upload public keys to Fiorano API Management Server to support two-way SSL.
• Option to generate client code for API Projects.
• Option to configure maximum failed login attempts by a developer and password strength required when modifying passwords.
• Option to regenerate consumer key and secret by the developer.

They can securely and quickly gain access to the tools and information they need to explore, test, and consume APIs.

Testing

Testing allows the developer to test the API with different sample requests and parameters to understand different invocation options and availability. We can examine the request and response of each API.
A Fiorano API Management user can take control of all the applications created by the developer from the Developer Portal.

Thus, Fiorano API Discovery helps to easily find, understand and access API, and moreover, developers and partners can build valuable apps and integrations much faster and easier.
